Two Easy Ways to Vote Before Election Day

Use this link to REQUEST A MAIL-IN BALLOT‍ ‍

Pennsylvania doesn't technically call it "early voting," but between mail-in ballots and Vote-on-Demand, you can complete your ballot weeks before Election Day and fold it right into your normal routine. Here's everything you need to know — from applying, to dropping off, to confirming your vote was received.

Why We Recommend Drop Box or Vote-on-Demand

Both options let you vote early, avoid mail delays, and check the task off your list on your own timeline — whether that's a Saturday errand run or a stop on the way home from work. No stamps, no waiting on the mail, no uncertainty about whether your ballot arrived in time.

✉️ Option 1 — Mail-In Ballot

Apply once each year, then vote from home on your own schedule.

How to apply:

  1. Apply online through the PA Department of State's voter services site, or in person at the Bucks County Board of Elections.
  2. Apply annually — a mail-in ballot request does not carry over from year to year.
  3. Submit your application by Tuesday, October 27 — the deadline to apply for this election.
  4. Watch your mail: ballots begin going out October 5, roughly three weeks before Election Day.

🗳️ Option 2 — Vote-on-Demand

Haven't applied for a mail-in ballot, or want to handle everything in a single visit? Vote-on-Demand lets you apply, receive, complete, and drop off your ballot in one stop — no waiting for the mail.

How it works:

  1. Visit any of the 7 Bucks County satellite election offices (listed below).
  2. A Board of Elections official takes your information and prints your mail ballot on the spot.
  3. Fill it out right there and hand it back — or take it home and return it later, by drop box or to the Board of Elections, by 8 PM on Election Day.
  4. Already have a mail-in ballot but didn't receive it, lost it, or changed your mind? You can cancel and reissue at the counter, or request a replacement by Vote-on-Demand — even as late as Election Day itself.

Closest to You: Two Convenient Locations

For voters in and around Morrisville, these two locations are the most convenient — both are close by, and one offers full Vote-on-Demand service in addition to a drop box.

Note: Yardley-Makefield Library accepts completed ballots in its drop box, but does not offer Vote-on-Demand service — if you want to apply and vote in one visit, use the Lower Bucks Government Services Center.

How to Return Your Ballot

  • Drop box (*recommended): Fastest and most reliable — available at every location listed above, open during building hours, no postage or mailing delays. Need a ride to a drop box? Email morrisvilledemocrats@gmail.com.
  • By mail: Return envelopes are pre-paid, no stamp needed. If you choose to mail your ballot, send it back right away — postal delays are common close to Election Day.
  • All returns are due by 8 PM on Tuesday, November 3 — no exceptions for postmarks.

🤝 Can't Get to a Drop Box or the Post Office? Ask Someone to Deliver Your Ballot

Many voters don't know about this one — and those who use it are very appreciative. If you have a disability and need help returning your ballot, you can authorize someone else to deliver it for you using the Designated Agent form from the PA Department of State.

How it works:

  1. Fill out the top half of the form.
  2. Have the person you choose (your designated agent) fill out the bottom half.
  3. Make a copy of the completed form for yourself — a photo on your phone works — and give the original to your designated agent.
  4. Your designated agent must have the completed form with them when they pick up or return your ballot.

One important tip: Do not put the form in the yellow secrecy envelope with your completed ballot.

Who can be your designated agent? Anyone you choose, except your employer (or an agent of your employer) or an officer or agent of your union.

Who qualifies: Any voter with a disability, whether temporary or permanent. That can include someone recovering from recent surgery, an older voter who can't physically get to a drop box or the post office, or anyone whose physical condition keeps them from returning their ballot. No doctor's signature is needed — you simply attest that you have a disability and need assistance.

Where to get the form: Copies are available at every drop box and election office location listed below, or you can download it from the PA Department of State.

Check That Your Ballot Was Received

Once you've applied or returned your ballot, confirm its status online using the state's official ballot tracker:

  1. Go to pavoterservices.pa.gov and select "Ballot Tracking," or use vote.pa/track.
  2. Enter your name, date of birth, and county exactly as they appeared on your application.
  3. Your record will show whether your application and/or ballot has been received and processed by the county.

If you provided an email address on your voter registration or mail-in ballot application, you may also receive an email confirming your ballot was received by the county — a quick way to know it's in without checking the tracker yourself.

If you don't see a status, or something looks wrong, call the Bucks County Board of Elections directly, or use one of the hotlines below.
