Debby Colgan

3rd Ward Council
(4 Year Seat)

Morrisville is a special place—rich in history, unique in character, and home to a diverse and engaged community. As a resident for 22 years, I’ve had countless conversations with neighbors, and one thing is clear: we love our Borough and want to see it thrive. That means maintaining our identity, keeping our community safe, and making responsible improvements that enhance our quality of life.

I believe in fiscal responsibility—spending tax dollars wisely, not on inflated projects or avoidable legal expenses. Transparency and public input are key to maintaining trust. I also believe that Morrisville needs the stability of a full-time Borough Manager—a dedicated professional who can navigate complex systems and effectively implement our shared vision for the community.

For 20 years, I served on the Morrisville Environmental Advisory Council (EAC), where I helped develop the Open Space Plan, secured and administered multiple grants, and currently act as Project Coordinator for the management of the Riverfront Preserve. Preserving Morrisville’s green spaces has always been a priority for me, as they provide a place for residents to connect with nature, promote environmental sustainability, and enhance our overall quality of life.

As an EAC member, I actively participated in numerous sustainability and resiliency initiatives and projects. I also served on the MR Reiter Repurposing Committee, where I contributed to the effort to preserve the MR Reiter property and lay the groundwork for Patriots Park, a community-driven passive open space initiative.

I have also worked to protect Williamson Park, advocating for its permanent public use and calling for decision-making that prioritizes public access, environmental sustainability, and community needs.

In addition to my environmental work, I served on the Morrisville Planning Commission for 10 years, many of those years as secretary. I contributed to the development of the Borough’s Comprehensive Plans, designed to guide responsible, community-centered growth.

Beyond my work in planning and conservation, I have been an active community volunteer, participating in local events that bring residents together.

I spent my career as a Registered Nurse, ensuring Medicaid Managed Care contract compliance and advocating for consumers to receive appropriate health care services. That experience reinforced my commitment to accountability, transparency, and responsible management—values that are just as essential in local government as they are in health care.

When I take on a project or issue, I honor my commitment by seeing it through and doing everything I can to ensure its success.

I am running to ensure Morrisville remains a thriving, welcoming community that balances growth with responsible decision-making. I will fight for fiscal transparency, thoughtful development, and strong public engagement—because I believe the best solutions come from working together.

With a deep love for this Borough and a strong track record of advocacy and action, I am committed to working for a better, stronger Morrisville. Together, we can protect what makes our community special while shaping a future we can all be proud of.
